According to the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority via its Telegram channel, the aircraft was received by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Greek Embassy in Damascus, Emmanuel S. Kakavelakis, and the company’s Board Director, Majd al-Deiri, along with an official delegation from the Authority headed by Public Relations Director Alaa Sallal, and Director of Damascus International Airport Anis Falouh.

In a statement to SANA, Sallal noted that Air Mediterranean is the second European airline to resume flights to Syria after Romania’s Dan Air. This development is part of the Authority’s broader plan to expand the international flight network and strengthen air links with Europe.

Sallal also emphasized that the Authority continues its efforts to reactivate various air routes to and from Syria, aiming to facilitate passenger travel and boost both the aviation sector and the national economy.
