US shells Iran's nuclear facilities, Tehran responds with a wave of missiles

Washington- Tehran, SANA- The Israeli-Iranian war took a dangerous turn after US military announced carrying out violent airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.

US President Donald Trump said that the operation is a “remarkable military success”, stressing the facilities were completely destroyed, and threatening further strikes if Iran does not show an intention for peace.

In response, Iran launched “twentieth wave” of missiles targeting Israeli military and industrial sites, considering this as a legitimate response due to targeting its nuclear facilities.

Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority announced Sunday morning that it had not detected any radioactive effects on the environment of the Kingdom or Arab Gulf countries due to US military targeting of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, warned, in a tweet posted on X platform, that US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities would have “grave consequences”, as this morning’s events are heinous, adding that Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people.

Iran announced targeting military and industrial sites affiliated with Israeli military, meanwhile, Iranian National Center for Nuclear Safety immediately conducted the necessary investigations on the possibility of nuclear contamination spreading around the aforementioned sites following US attack on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites.

The center, along with International Atomic Energy Agency reported that there has been no increase in radiation levels outside Iranian nuclear sites due to US attacks, and there is no danger to residents living near the aforementioned sites.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in a statement Sunday that US strikes on Iran are dangerous escalation in the region and a direct threat to international peace and security, there is a serious risk that this conflict would spiral out of control, adding “There is no military solution, and the only way forward is diplomacy”.
