US Treasury says it works with the DOS and NSC to lift sanctions on Syria

Washington, SANA-The US Treasury confirmed that it is working with the Department of State (DOS) and the National Security Council (NSC) to implement US President Donald Trump’s directives regarding lifting sanctions on Syria.

The ministry posted on its X account: “We look forward to implementing the necessary licenses, which will be critical to attracting new investments to Syria.”

The US Treasury expects that its actions will “help rebuild Syria’s economy, financial sector, and infrastructure, and put the country on the path to a bright, prosperous, and stable future.”

A US administration official stated today that the ministry is likely to issue general licenses covering a wide range of sectors of the Syrian economy that are important for reconstruction.
