Syrian-Turkish talks on developing technical and engineering services and utilizing satellite internet

Damascus, SANA- Mr. Abdul Salam Haykal, Minister of Communications and Technology, has met with Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu and Turkish Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus, Burhan Koroglu to discuss technical and engineering cooperation, particularly in the area of satellite internet services via satellites.

During the meeting, held Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters, the two sides explored ways to improve the quality of internet services in Syria, expand coverage, especially in areas suffering from weak connectivity, including infrastructure enhancements.

The discussions also covered identifying the telecommunications sector’s requirements to benefit from satellite internet services, keeping pace with modern technological advancements, facilitating access to digital services, promoting digital transformation in Syria, and evaluating the feasibility of introducing these services into the Syrian market.
