Aleppo, Sept. 7 (SANA) More than 1.23 million travelers and 46,480 commercial trucks crossed the al-Salama border crossing between Syria and Türkiye in the first eight months of 2026, Syria’s General Authority for Land and Sea Ports and Customs said.
The trucks, traveling in both directions through the end of August, carried more than 1.077 million tons of goods, highlighting the crossing’s role in bilateral trade and transit shipments through Syria.
The crossing also received more than 73,000 Syrians who voluntarily returned to the country during the same period.
The authority is upgrading the crossing’s infrastructure and facilities to increase capacity and strengthen its role in passenger and commercial traffic between Syria and Türkiye.
