In a coordinated effort with the Ministry of Defense, Syria’s Ministry of Interior carried out a security operation in western Damascus countryside aimed at curbing arms smuggling and ensuring weapons remain under state control.
According to a statement released Monday via the ministry’s Telegram channel, the operation resulted in the seizure of large quantities of both heavy and light weapons, along with various types of ammunition.
The cache was reportedly prepared for smuggling outside the country, posing a serious threat to regional security and stability.
Interior Ministry reaffirmed its continued coordination with the Ministry of Defense to strengthen security nationwide and prevent any unauthorized circulation or trafficking of weapons.
