Damascus countryside, Aug.1 (SANA) Minister of Tourism, Mazen Al-Salhani, inaugurated on Friday the four-star Palm Village Hotel in Yaafour area of Damascus countryside,  following its renovation and modernization.

The opening, attended by representatives of various diplomatic missions, took place as part of efforts to support and develop the tourism sector’s infrastructure.

Spanning an area of 3,500 square meters, the hotel provides between 50 and 60 job opportunities.

It features 33 suites—categorized as Junior, Diplomatic, and Presidential—alongside indoor and outdoor restaurants, meeting rooms, a business center, and sports and service facilities, catering to the needs of business travelers and families alike, whether for short or long stays.

Encouraging Investors

“We view every new tourism investment as an investment in Syria’s economic future, Al-Salhani said in a statement to SANA, adding that projects that combine quality, innovation, and sustainability enhance the sector’s competitiveness, elevate the visitor experience, and demonstrate the private sector’s confidence in tourism investment opportunities in Syria.”

Modern Services

For his part, the hotel’s investor, Mohammad Omar Shoura, explained that the hotel had been fully rehabilitated and refitted after ceasing operations in 2011. It has now reopened with modern services that meet hospitality standards and relies heavily on alternative energy to power its electrical systems, reflecting a commitment to utilizing clean energy sources.

On July 15, Tourism Minister inaugurated the Ski Land mall on Damascus International Airport road.

This integrated entertainment and commercial complex returned to service after a years-long hiatus, featuring restaurants, shops offering local and international brands, and various leisure facilities, including an ice-skating rink.
