Al-Mustafa: deploying forces to Sweida came when the Syrian state exhausted all possible political solutions

Damascus, SANA – Minister of Information Dr. Hamza Al-Mustafa asserted that the deploying Defense and Interior Ministries’ forces to Sweida came when the Syrian state exhausted all possible political solutions to address the issue of uncontrolled weapons and outlaw groups.

Al-Mustafa stated that “this campaign was welcomed by the local forces in Sweida, which are a key lever in Syrian patriotism.

Al-Mustafa said in a phone call with the Syrian news channel Al-Ikhbariya: “deploying of the Defense and Interior Ministries’ forces is a specialized surgical operation to target those who do not accept coexistence and refuse to allow Syria to be one unified country”.

The Minister of Information stated that “this operation will contribute to positive changes in terms of restoring stability and opening a rational political path through which all issues can be contained, noting that “Sweida is one of the political mines left by the defunct regime, and the Syrian government tried to follow different political methods to avoid its explosion. The Syrian state agreed to all the demands, but some bet on the foreign intervention and tried to mobilize regional and some sectarian fanatics, which led to a state of instability and chaos in the province.

Al-Mustafa stressed that the new Syria accommodates all Syrians, and Sweida is an integral part of it, and its people have played a positive role and prefer the Syrian homeland and do not give up on it, because they see themselves as part of a single, unified Syria.

“We as Syrians, are facing a new era based on citizenship, which is the political and legal bond that unites us, and certainly some may have different views, but they can always be put on the table and discussed in one way or another, without resorting to external solutions or begging for external intervention,” he concluded.
