Lattakia, SANA- Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh announced Thursday that firefighting teams from the provinces of Raqqa, Hasakah, and Deir Ezzor will participate in extinguishing the wildfires that have been raging for the eighth day in northern Lattakia countryside.

The Minister stated in a post on the X platform that the participation will include firefighter teams, 22 fire engines, two bulldozers, and logistical support vehicles.

“We hope to defeat the catastrophe we face together as Syrians from Sweida to Aleppo, from Lattakia to Al-Hasakah” the minister wrote on X.Firefighting Teams from Raqqa, Al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor join battling fires in Latakkia

For the eighth day firefighting teams are facing difficulties to extinguish ragging wildfires due to windy weather and mountainous areas.

The Minister of Emergency announced on Wednesday firefighting teams were able to control some fire outbreaks.

But strong winds last night contributed to the re-ignition of fires in several areas, particularly in Jabal al-Nisr mountainous area.
