New York, SANA – UN Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Najat Rochdi called on the international community to help Syria deal with the wildfire disaster.
Syria needs more international support to confront the catastrophic fires raging on the Syrian coast,” Rochdi tweeted on the “X” platform on Sunday.
Operations to extinguish the fires that have been raging in the mountains of the Syrian coast have been continuing for several days, with reinforcements continuing to be sent to the region to participate in extinguishing the fires and limiting their spread in light of the great challenges it faces, which include the harsh climatic conditions, the intensity of the winds, and the difficult geographical nature of the region, in addition to the presence of war remnants that hinder work and pose a threat to the lives of personnel.
