Syrian Engineers’ Syndicate: New Laws to Facilitate Work and Registration of Expatriate Companies

Damascus, SANA – Head of the Syrian Engineers’ Syndicate, Malek Haj Ali, announced Saturday that the Syndicate is currently working on a set of laws and regulations to facilitate the work of engineers returning from abroad and regulate the registration of their companies in Syria.

“This will enable them to effectively contribute to the reconstruction process and comprehensive sustainable development in Syria,” Haj Ali told SANA in a statement.

An “Investment Committee” has been formed within the Syndicate, tasked with communicating with Syrian and Arab investors and establishing genuine partnerships with them.

“Among the tasks of this committee is preparing an economic feasibility study for investment projects owned by the Engineers’ Retirement Fund and presenting some of these projects for investment, which will benefit engineers and provide them with real job opportunities,” Haj Ali added.

Haj Ali went on to say that the number of syndicate members amounts to 207,351 male and female engineers, from all specializations, and that the Syndicate is keen on providing job opportunities for them, improving their material and social conditions, and caring for their interests.

“The Syndicate takes part in developing recommendations related to Arab engineering projects, and it is keen to establish and consolidate the best relations with Arab and international engineering federations, and to strengthen relations with Syrian engineers in countries abroad, in addition to training and developing engineering cadres, through educational courses, publishing studies and books, and participating in engineering and scientific conferences, seminars, and lectures, inside and outside the Syrian Arab Republic.
