Washington, SANA-The United States has renewed its condemnation of the terrorist bombing that targeted St. Elias Church in al-Dweilaa neighborhood of Damascus, expressing its support for the Syrian government in fighting terrorism.

In a press briefing last night, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated, “The United States supports the Syrian government in combating forces seeking to destabilize the region and spread fear in Syria and across the Middle East.”

Bruce reaffirmed on Wednesday the U.S. commitment to supporting Syria in its fight against terrorist groups, noting that Washington has lifted several sanctions to facilitate assistance to the Syrian government in strengthening its counterterrorism capabilities. This move is part of broader international efforts to ensure stability in Syria and the region.

U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak also strongly condemned on Tuesday the terrorist attack, stressing that this cowardly act would not undermine Syria’s diverse national identity or the unity of its people.
