Homs, SANA-The book “Deterring Aggression” by young author Abdul Majid al-Khalaf documents the liberation of Syria from the defunct regime which culminated in a 14-year Syrian revolutionary struggle that resulted in the overthrow of the criminal regime on December 8, 2024.

To discuss the newly released book, the Cultural Center Theater in Homs hosted a thought-provoking seminar with the author, who himself participated in the liberation process. During the event, Al-Khalaf noted that his motivation to write the book stemmed from a desire to chronicle this pivotal chapter in Syria’s history with meticulous detail, offering a personal and uniquely styled perspective.

In the session, the author guided attendees on an intellectual journey through the pages of his book, shedding light on decisive turning points in the course of the conflict, while responding to audience questions.

In an interview with SANA’s reporter, Al-Khalaf explained that his 80-page book recounts the “Battle of Deterring Aggression,” including lesser-known facts and heroic tales of the revolutionaries. Presented in the form of realistic stories, the book serves as documentation of a critical period in Syria’s modern history, written in a simple, accessible narrative style.
