Qatar, France affirm their commitment to supporting economic development and reconstruc

Qatar, France affirm their commitment to supporting economic development and reconstruc

Doha, SANA- Qatar and France affirmed Sunday, their commitment to working together for providing humanitarian aid and support economic development and reconstruction in Syria.

According to a statement published on Sunday by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari and French sides held the third annual strategic dialogue sessions in the French capital, Paris, on the 12th of this month, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barre.

During the dialogue, they praised the historic transition process in Syria and stressed the importance of a comprehensive political arrangement that protects the rights of all.

The two sides reiterated their support for rebuilding a new, free, stable, and sovereign Syria that respects all components of society.

They agreed that stability and security in Syria is crucial for all its citizens as well as the surrounding region
The two sides welcomed the lifting of international sanctions imposed on the Syrian economy, expressing their encouragement for foreign investments in the country.

Qatar also welcomed French support for the European Union’s recent decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria, and the recent meeting between President Ahmad al-Sharaa and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
