Red Crescent warns against approaching and collecting war remnants

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Arab Red Crescent organization has warned against the danger of collecting ammunition, landmines, or any other discarded war remnants and abandoned military equipment, due to the threat they pose to life.

This warning came in a post by the organization on its Telegram channel on Saturday, after media outlets and social media platforms circulated photos of a group of people carrying war remnants, with one of them cutting it. The organization emphasized that these actions expose their lives and the lives of those around them to severe danger.

In this context, the organization reiterated the need to follow safe behaviors to prevent the danger of war remnants and unexploded ordnance, which continue to claim lives almost daily. It recommended not approaching or touching them, and the necessity of reporting them to the nearest local authority.

On Friday, Minister of Emergency and Disasters, Mr. Raed al-Saleh, warned citizens in a statement to SANA, in light of the military escalation in the region, against approaching any strange object or debris that may fall as a result of the events. He stressed not touching it, and leaving its handling to engineering teams or war remnants removal teams, and to immediately report any remnants or war debris.

It is worth noting that several areas in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra governorates were exposed Friday to the falling of remnants from the mutual shelling between Iran and Israel.
