The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority announces full opening of Syrian airspace

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced Saturday the full reopening of Syrian airspace to civil aviation traffic, after the circumstances that necessitated the temporary closure of some air corridors during the past period.

In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the authority confirmed that Syrian airspace is now safe and available for use in accordance with international safety standards, and that all air corridors, including those connecting Syrian airports to the international corridor network, are open to civilian air traffic.

The Authority indicated that the situation in the region will be continuously monitored, as additional measures may be taken when necessary, in order to maintain the highest levels of safety and security in Syrian airspace.

The Authority reiterated its full commitment to ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation, and its continuous coordination with the concerned national and international authorities to ensure the smooth flow of air traffic in the airspace of the Syrian Arab Republic.
