Damascus, SANA- Energy Minister Eng. Mohammed al-Bashir received Wednesday a phone call from his Algerian counterpart, Mohamed Arkab, during which they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, electricity, and mineral resources.
Minister al-Bashir reviewed the state of the energy sector in Syria, highlighting the challenges facing this sector and the urgent need for technical support to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure.
For his part, Minister Arkab expressed Algeria’s readiness to provide support and technical assistance to Syria, and to contribute to reconstruction and the improvement of basic services.
This call comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and affirming support for Syria in overcoming the challenges facing the energy sector.
