Paris,SANA- with the participation of a delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic, the 14th International Conference on Middle Eastern Archaeology (ICAANE) kicked off on Monday in the French city, Lyon.
The delegation included Director-General of Antiquities and Museums, Dr. Anas Haj Zeidan, and Director of Excavation and Archaeological Studies, Dr. Masoud Badawi.
The conference is considered as one of the most prominent international events specializing in Middle Eastern archaeology.
It serves as a high-level scientific platform for the exchange of expertise and knowledge among archaeologists from various countries, and is attended by all archaeological missions operating in Syria.
The conference will last for three days, during which numerous research papers and lectures will be presented, partnerships and memoranda of understanding will be concluded to promote heritage projects in the Middle East.
