Committee tasked with finalizing agreement with SDF reaches consensus on key issues

Damascus, SANA- An official meeting was held Sunday between the committee tasked with finalizing the agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and an SDF delegation, during which consensus was reached on several important issues.

Brigadier General Ziad Al-Ayesh, a committee member, stated to SANA that the meeting was conducted in a positive atmosphere, marked by a spirit of responsibility and mutual concern for national interests.

He further explained that the discussions resulted in an agreement on several key files, most notably the establishment of specialized subcommittees to oversee the implementation of the March 10 agreement, signed between President Ahmad al-Sharaa and General Mazloum Abdi.

Brigadier General al-Ayesh also highlighted the consensus on resolving outstanding issues related to examinations and testing centers, ensuring students’ rights and the integrity of the educational process. Additionally, mechanisms to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their areas were discussed, along with efforts to remove obstacles hindering this process.

Furthermore, he noted that both sides agreed to reactivate the agreement regarding the neighborhoods of al-Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo and to work towards addressing related challenges to promote stability and civil peace.

Brigadier General al-Ayesh emphasized the commitment of both parties to constructive dialogue and ongoing cooperation, serving Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and the aspirations of its people for security and stability.

Another meeting was scheduled in the near future to continue discussions and follow up on the implementation of the agreed-upon measures.
