Iraq and Lebanon affirm support for Syria's unity, stability, and Sovereignty

Baghdad, SANA – Iraq and Lebanon today renewed their support for Syria’s unity and stability, and for preserving its sovereignty and security.

This came during talks held in Baghdad today by Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, according to a statement from the Iraqi Presidency carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said, during a press conference with the Lebanese President: “We support Syria and its territorial integrity.”

Al-Sudani indicated that Iraq supports internal political consensus in Lebanon and condemns the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.
