Aleppo, Jan. 8 (SANA) The Operations Command of the Syrian Arab Army warned the SDF on Thursday not to target civilians seeking to leave the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyah, and Bani Zeid via the humanitarian corridors announced by Aleppo Governorate.
The army added that it is working to ensure the safety of civilians attempting to flee the oppression of the organization in the mentioned neighborhoods.
Earlier Thursday, the Aleppo governorate announced extending the exit period for civilians and families trapped in Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafieh neighborhoods until 1:00 p.m.
The move follows appeals form the families in both neighborhoods after the SDF organization prevented many residents from leaving yesterday in an attempt to use them as human shields to continue its operations against the army.
