Washington, SANA-The US State Department confirmed that raising the American flag for the first time since 2012 over the ambassador’s residence in the capital, Damascus, in the presence of US Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack, represents a “milestone moment.”
“This is a symbolic step that coincides with Washington’s announcement of lifting sanctions on Syria,” The State Department posted on X platform, adding: “It is a new page being written in US-Syrian relations.”
