Frontex supports the voluntary return of displaced Syrians to their homeland

Warsaw, SANA-The European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) has announced its readiness to support the voluntary return of displaced Syrians to their home country.

In a statement on its official website, Frontex emphasized its commitment to ensuring that all all returnees are fully informed of their rights and the voluntary nature of their decision, and each return is carried out in accordance with EU law and international protection standards.

It noted that since last March, it has facilitated more than a 1000 voluntary return operations.

Furthermore, Frontex stated that in the coming days, it will introduce reintegration measures for those voluntarily returning to Syria by expanding the geographical scope of the European reintegration program. The agency will continue to support EU member states in providing dignified pathways for returnees and assisting those who choose to rebuild their lives in their homeland.
