Minister of Education meets UN Special Envoy for Syria

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Education Mohammad Abdul Rahman Tarko discussed Tuesday with Geir Pedersen, UN Special Envoy for Syria, cooperation with the United Nations to improve the quality of education in Syria.

Minister Tarko briefed the UN envoy on challenges currently facing the Education in Syria and the Ministry’s strategic plan for the future.

He hailed the positive role of UN efforts in supporting education in Syria and rebuilding destroyed schools.

 Pedersen expressed the United Nations’ readiness to cooperate with Syria in the field of education.
