Minister of Administrative Development: Lifting sanctions on Syria a turning point towards effective institutions

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Administrative Development, Mr. Mohammad Hassan al-Sakaf, has affirmed that the U.S. President’s decision to lift sanctions on Syria is a strategic turning point towards effective institutions and services that meet the aspirations of Syrians.

In a statement today, minister al-Sakaf said, “We congratulate the Syrian people on this important step, and we consider it a strategic turning point that opens the way for public institutions to overcome many of the restrictions that hindered their performance and restore their ability to provide services with quality and efficiency that meet the aspirations of Syrians.”

He added, “The Ministry of Administrative Development views this shift as a historic opportunity to restructure the state’s institutional framework, consolidate a modern administrative system based on efficiency and transparency, and rely on empowering national human resources and stimulating the work environment towards innovation and productivity.”

Minister al-Sakaf concluded by saying, “We in the Ministry believe that this stage requires the concerted efforts of all national actors and the investment of available capabilities to achieve a comprehensive administrative reform that directly reflects on the lives of citizens and the quality of services they receive.”
