U.S. Department of State: We want to see peace and prosperity in the Middle East

Washington, SANA- Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Tommy Pigott, had announced that the United States wants to see peace and prosperity in the Middle East, noting that this is one of the goals of President Donald Trump’s visit to the region.

Commenting on Trump’s announcement regarding the lifting of sanctions on Syria, Pigott said in a press conference published on the U.S. Department of State’s website: “Regarding the interim Syrian administration, we have communicated with them regarding measures related to achieving peace and prosperity.”

He added, “The U.S. President has spoken about his desire to see the entire region flourish.”
