Syrian-Emirati talks to boost cooperation in various fields

Syrian-Emirati talks to boost cooperation in various fields

Abu Dhabi, SANA-His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of theUAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Court, discussed with Finance Minister Mohammed Yisr Barnieh and governor of the Central Bank of Syria Abdul Qader al-Husriya ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Syria in various fields, particularly finance, banking, and trade.

During a joint meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms that contribute to achieving common Syrian-Emirati interests, which will benefit both countries and peoples.

In a statement to SANA, Minister Barnieh stressed the importance of the meeting in strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries and elevating them to higher levels.

He praised the UAE’s keenness to support stability and economic and administrative reform in Syria.

Syrian-Emirati talks to boost cooperation in various fieldsMinister Barnieh indicated that the meeting addressed several topics related to investment opportunities in the financial and banking sectors.

He added that the energy and infrastructure sectors, and assistance in reforming the tax and judicial systems were also agreed upon.

An agreement was also reached to hold a Syrian-Emirati investment forum.
