New York, SANA- The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres has called for supporting Syria’s efforts toward long-term stability and recovery, and an inclusive political transition.
According to the UN News Center, Guterres reiterated during a ministerial meeting held Tuesday by the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian cause, the importance of continuing efforts to support Syria’s path toward a political transition that includes all segments of the Syrian people.
He emphasized the need for this transition to ensure accountability, strengthen national reconciliation, lay the foundation for Syria’s long-term recovery, and enhance its integration into the international community.
