Foreign Ministry: Amending legal status of the Syrian mission in New York is purely tec

Damascus, SANA- An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the procedure to amend the legal status of the Syrian mission in New York is purely technical and administrative, related to the previous affiliated mission, and it does not reflect any change in the stance toward the new Syrian government.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in continuous contact with relevant authorities to address this issue and clarify its full context, ensuring that there is no ambiguity regarding relevant political or legal stances,” the source told SANA in a statement.

The source affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continuing diplomatic efforts and coordination within international frameworks to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people to rebuild their homeland.

In this context, the source stressed that a comprehensive review of the status of the Syrian missions abroad is currently underway, adding that serious decisions will soon be announced regarding their reorganization and restructure, reflecting the aspirations of Syrians, enhancing the presence of our institutions and missions on the international stage, and ensuring efficient performance and clear political representation.
