New York, SANA-UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen welcomed the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian state institutions, expressing his hope that this agreement will support a “broader, more credible, and more inclusive political transition process.”
On his X account, Pedersen called on key international actors, including the United States, Turkey and regional partners, to support Syrians by implementing a nationwide ceasefire and ensuring genuine settlements that consolidate peace and stability in northeastern Syria.
