New York, SANA- Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani reiterated her country’s firm position in supporting the choices of the Syrian people and providing all forms of assistance to achieve their aspirations for progress and prosperity.
Qatar News Agency reported that the Permanent Representative stressed, during a virtual meeting with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria, Geir Pedersen on Thursday, the State of Qatar’s keenness to lift the sanctions as an essential step to support security and stability in the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic.
The meeting also underlined Qatar’s continued support for the efforts of the Office of the UN Envoy to Syria to facilitate a comprehensive political process led by Syria.led by Syria.
