Damascus, Oct. 29 (SANA) Three people were killed and 21 others injured in road accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said Thursday.
In a statement on its Telegram channel, the agency said its teams responded to 16 traffic accidents that left three people dead and 19 others injured. Crews provided first aid and transported the injured to hospitals for treatment, while clearing debris and securing the accident sites.
Civil Defense teams also responded to 25 fires involving homes, shops, vegetation, trees, garbage and electrical wires across the country.
The fires injured two people, who received first aid from emergency crews. The remaining damage was limited to property, the agency said. Teams extinguished the fires and cooled the affected sites.
The Civil Defense urged the public to avoid lighting fires in forests and agricultural fields and to refrain from throwing cigarette butts or glass bottles along roads, particularly near crops and wooded areas.
It also advised residents not to burn dry grass around homes or along roadsides, recommending that it be removed safely instead.
In a separate update, the agency said one person was killed and 12 others injured in road accidents and fires across several parts of Syria on Tuesday.
