Homs, Oct. 5 (SANA) More than 100 sons of martyrs took part in a mass wedding in Homs on Sunday, an initiative organizers said was aimed at helping young people meet marriage costs amid difficult economic conditions.
The ceremony, held at the Agricultural Engineers Club, was supported by the “Uncle T” Foundation, implemented by Al-Salama Company and sponsored by the Homs Endowments Directorate.
Marwan Seif Eddin, one of the grooms, said the initiative provided important assistance to young people struggling with the financial pressures associated with marriage and helped them begin married life.
Homs Endowments Director Abdul Aleem Hilal told SANA the initiative went beyond holding a wedding ceremony by helping young people establish families and promoting social stability.
He said facilitating marriage was part of broader community work and thanked the organizations supporting the initiative, Homs Governorate and those involved in organizing the event.
Ammar Mohammad Jibneh, director of the ceremony’s coordination committee, said the wedding brought together more than 100 sons of martyrs from Homs and described the initiative as an expression of appreciation for the sacrifices made by their families.
