Damascus, Sept. 30 (SANA) Syrian authorities seized 225,000 Captagon pills being smuggled from Lebanon into Damascus Countryside and arrested two suspects, the Anti-Narcotics Department said Wednesday.
The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus Countryside in coordination with the Border Guard Forces following surveillance and field investigations, the department said on Telegram.
The seized drugs were confiscated, while the two suspects were referred to the competent judicial authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The seizure comes days after the Anti-Narcotics Department, in cooperation with the Border Guard Forces, foiled another smuggling attempt from Lebanese territory on Sept. 25.
Authorities seized 24 kilograms of narcotic hashish and 113 bottles of alcoholic beverages in that operation after intercepting the shipment in an ambush before it reached its destination.
