New York, Sept. 22 (SANA) Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Qutaiba Kadish held separate bilateral meetings with senior European Union and United Nations officials in New York to advance economic recovery and development cooperation.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In his meeting with Michael Karnitschnig, Acting Director-General for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf at the European Commission, Kadish discussed expanding joint humanitarian and development frameworks. The two sides focused on mechanisms to support Syria’s economic recovery and promote regional stability.
Kadish also met with Navid Hanif, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). Discussions centered on deepening collaboration with UN development agencies, aligning national recovery strategies, and coordinating efforts on shared global and regional priorities.
The diplomatic engagements reflect Syria’s broader push at UNGA 81 to secure institutional support for post-conflict rebuilding, economic revival, and sustainable development.
