Damascus, Aug. 26 (SANA) Two people from Douma were injured Tuesday when a landmine exploded near their vehicle in the Oujan area east of al-Dumayr city in Damascus countryside.
Tahir Jeroudia, director of the al-Dumayr Ambulance Center of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, told SANA that one victim suffered a leg amputation and a serious abdominal wound, while the other sustained injuries. Both were taken to al-Mouwasat Hospital in Damascus for treatment.
Landmines and remnants of war dating back to the ousted regime continue to pose a threat around al-Dumayr. On July 17, an anti-tank mine exploded near a vehicle carrying vegetables southeast of the city, killing a young man.
