Damascus, Aug. 23 (SANA) A Saudi Tasheer visa center opened in Damascus’s Mazzeh neighborhood on Sunday, in coordination between the Syrian Foreign Ministry and the Saudi side, to provide visa services and facilitate procedures for Syrians applying for various types of visas.
The opening was attended by Saudi Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus Abdullah al-Haris, Saudi Foreign Ministry Envoy Fahd bin Salem Abu Thunain, Syrian Foreign Ministry Arab Affairs Advisor Mohammed Taha al-Ahmad, and Consular Affairs Director Mohammed Yaqoub al-Omar.
The center aims to register biometric data through advanced digital services, making the visa process faster and more accurate for Syrians.
Following the opening, “Saudi Visa Bio” app was launched, a mobile application dedicated to biometric registration for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims—the first of its kind in the world.
Tasheer is a Saudi company established in 2019 and wholly owned by Tahakom Investments Company, serving as the executive arm of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for managing and operating visa service centers outside the Kingdom.
The company provides a range of services in visa and identity, travel, and consular domains, powered by advanced digital technologies. The opening of the Damascus center aligns with Syria’s return to regional engagement and the strengthening of travel and movement between the two countries.
