Provinces, Aug 8 (SANA) Two people were killed and 17 others injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours, as emergency response teams from the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management responded to the incidents.
The Civil Defense said on Saturday that its teams responded to 16 traffic accidents, which left two people dead and 14 civilians injured. The teams provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to hospitals for necessary medical treatment. They also cleared the sites of the accidents and secured the areas.
The Civil Defense teams also responded to 127 fires, including fires in homes and commercial shops, as well as grass, trees, waste and electrical wires. The fires were extinguished and their sites cooled down. Three people were injured, including one firefighter and two civilians, who received the necessary first aid, while the remaining damage was limited to property.
On Thursday, one person was killed and 22 others injured in fires and traffic accidents that were responded to by Civil Defense teams across several Syrian governorates.
