Hasakah, April 14 (SANA) A new return convoy carrying 800 families from Afrin displaced in Hasakah set off on Monday toward their towns and villages, as part of ongoing efforts led by the presidential team overseeing implementation of the January 29 agreement with the SDF.
Ahmad al-Hilali, spokesperson for the presidential team overseeing implementation of the Jan. 29 agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said the convoy represents the largest organized return operation so far, reflecting tangible progress in preparing the necessary field and service conditions for the return of displaced residents. He stressed the state’s commitment to addressing this humanitarian and national file.
Al-Hilali noted that the step comes as a continuation of field efforts led by the presidential team, which held an expanded meeting two days ago with displaced residents from Hasakah in Ras al-Ain, where their demands were directly discussed, particularly security concerns related to returning to their neighborhoods, especially al-Nashwa and Ghweiran neighborhoods.
He added that addressing these concerns is a priority, with ongoing coordination with relevant authorities to ensure a safe and stable environment that enables a gradual and dignified return of residents, in line with practical considerations of security and services in the region.
