ALEPPO, July 9 (SANA) The National Commission for Missing Persons, in coordination with the relevant authorities, responded last Tuesday to information of residents regarding a suspected site that may contain human remains in the town of Aisha in eastern Aleppo countryside.

The Commission conducted an initial field assessment to determine the technical, logistical, and legal requirements needed for the response, in preparation for taking appropriate measures in accordance with approved professional and legal standards, while ensuring the protection of evidence and preserving the dignity of victims.

In a statement published Thursday on its Telegram channel, the National Commission for Missing Persons explained that such reports are handled through a humanitarian and professional approach that respects families’ right to know the truth.

It added that coordination with relevant authorities contributes to revealing the fate of missing persons and maintaining the integrity of documentation and verification procedures.

Since the liberation of Syria from the ousted regime, relevant authorities have discovered mass graves in several areas across the country containing the remains of hundreds of people who died as a result of the criminal practices of the deposed regime and its militias during the years of the revolution.
