Damascus, July 5 (SANA) French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Syria for talks on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional and international issues of mutual interest, the Syrian Presidency’s Media Directorate said on Sunday.

In a statement to SANA, the directorate said Macron will be accompanied by a delegation of investors and representatives of French companies, reflecting efforts to expand economic cooperation alongside political engagement.

President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Macron are scheduled to hold a roundtable meeting with their respective delegations, according to the statement.

The talks will focus on regional and international developments, as well as opportunities to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors, as part of ongoing political dialogue between the two countries.

President al-Sharaa visited France last year at Macron’s invitation, where the two leaders held talks at the Élysée Palace on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation.

During those discussions, both sides reaffirmed the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, supporting recovery and reconstruction efforts, and broadening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The upcoming visit reflects continued political consultations between Syria and France aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing coordination on issues of shared interest.
