Civil Defense responds to traffic accidents across Syria

Damascus, June 27 (SANA)– Fifteen people were injured in traffic accidents as Syrian Civil Defense teams in the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management responded to them across Syria.

The Civil Defense said via its Telegram channel on Saturday , that its teams responded to 16 traffic accidents that left 15 civilians injured, providing first aid to the injured before transferring them to hospitals and securing accident sites.

Civil Defense officials urged drivers to reduce speed, ensure vehicle safety, and avoid distractions such as mobile phone use while driving.

Civil Defense teams also responded to 179 fires, including 11 in fields and agricultural crops. The remaining incidents involved homes, shops, dry vegetation, trees, garbage and electrical wires. The fires were extinguished and the affected sites cooled, with no civilian injuries reported. Damage was limited to material losses.

They also called on citizens to avoid open fires in agricultural and forested areas and to refrain from improper disposal of cigarette butts or glass that could trigger fires, particularly near crops and woodland, and avoiding the burning of dry vegetation around homes or along roads. It called for such materials to be removed using safe methods.

Two days earlier, 15 people were injured in traffic accidents across Syria, while Syrian Civil Defense teams responded to 171 fires.
