Damascus, June.15 (SANA) Syrian Justice Minister Mazhar al-Wais reiterated that the Syrian state is moving forward with determination to achieve justice and hold individuals responsible for crimes committed under the deposed regime accountable, stressing that impunity will not be tolerated.
In a post published on the social media platform X on Monday, al-Wais reaffirmed that justice will continue to be pursued through the law and state institutions, emphasizing that there is no place for chaos or retaliation, but rather for the rule of law and the safeguarding of victims’ rights.
Earlier in the day, Interior Ministry spokesperson Nour al-din al-Baba stated during a press conference that holding those responsible for crimes committed against the Syrian people accountable is a right owed to the victims, while implementing that right remains the responsibility of the state and its judicial and security institutions.
Attorney General Hassan al-Turba affirmed that the transitional justice process in Syria does not rely on a single mechanism, but rather on an integrated legal, human rights and political framework.
He noted that the process is proceeding normally and in accordance with Syrian law.
