Aleppo, June 9 (SANA) Türkiye’s Pegasus Airlines operated its first flight to Aleppo International Airport on Tuesday, arriving from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
The new service is part of efforts to expand Aleppo’s air connectivity and stimulate economic activity.
“Pegasus joining the airport network is a significant step,” said Osama Taljou, head of Seravia in Aleppo. “It will allow Aleppo residents to reach multiple destinations, including Europe, through Istanbul.”
Taljou said more routes are planned in the coming months.
Walid al-Ahmad, Director of Public Relations at Aleppo International Airport, said the landing of Turkish Pegasus Airlines’ inaugural flight constitutes an important milestone in restoring the Aleppo airport’s role in air transport.
