Damascus, June 7 (SANA) The Damascus and Damascus countryside Chamber of Agriculture and the Amal for Relief and Development organization signed a memorandum of understanding on Saturday aimed at supporting farmers, strengthening rural development and expanding opportunities for agricultural products.
The agreement, signed at the chamber’s headquarters in Damascus, seeks to enhance cooperation in the agricultural sector, improve production and support sustainable development initiatives, according to Chamber President Mohammad Janan.
Under the memorandum, the two sides will cooperate on providing technical, logistical and capacity-building support to the Fruit Association in Douma, which was established by Amal to support agricultural projects in Eastern Ghouta.
Wissam al-Hajji, head of Amal’s food processing unit, said the agreement is intended to translate cooperation into practical projects that support farmers, strengthen food security and contribute to sustainable development.
The partnership also aims to improve marketing opportunities for rural products, expand support for productive families and enhance the resilience of farming communities.
Amal is a Syrian non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides humanitarian assistance, supports vulnerable groups and implements recovery and community resilience programs.
