Damascus, June 6 (SANA) Passenger traffic through Damascus International Airport exceeded 148,000 travelers in May, reflecting continued growth in Syria’s civil aviation sector.
According to the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, a total of 148,305 passengers passed through the airport during the month. Arrivals reached 83,357 passengers, while departures stood at 64,948.
The authority added that 1,532 flights were operated during the same period، with 13 airlines currently active at the airport.
Efforts are ongoing to enhance air transport to and from Syria by expanding international destinations and attracting additional airlines, as part of broader plans to develop the civil aviation sector and facilitate passenger movement through airports.
