Raqqa, May 30 (SANA)    Emergency and Disaster Management Minister Raed al-Saleh conducted a field tour on Saturday in Raqqa countryside to review the progress of response operations and measures taken to deal with rising Euphrates River levels.

Al-Saleh held an expanded meeting with commanders of Syrian Civil Defense field teams at the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate in Raqqa, to strengthen coordination and raise response readiness.

The meeting reviewed the latest field developments and assessed the current response level, while discussing key challenges facing field teams on the ground and a package of emergency and preventive measures aimed at enhancing readiness and ensuring protection of residents and vital facilities and infrastructure in affected areas.

Yesterday, al-Saleh conducted a field tour of several sites in Deir Ezzor province, reviewing operational mechanisms and emergency and preventive plans for responding to the Euphrates flood, to reduce risks, improve response efficiency, and protect lives and property under current exceptional circumstances.
