Syria, May 27 (SANA) The Syrian Establishment for Building and Construction (SEBCO) has completed and advanced several infrastructure projects across Syria as part of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing’s plan to improve roads and bridges, enhance traffic safety, and support economic activity.

SEBCO recently completed a road diversion project at the entrance to the Cement Bridge in the city of Al-Rastan in Homs province, within the broader project to complete Al-Rastan Bridge on the international highway under the supervision of the General Establishment for Road Transport.

SEBCO Director Hassan Rahmoun told SANA that the diversion road is 140 meters long and 12 meters wide, adding that the works included excavation, gravel base layers, and asphalt paving. He said the project was completed within a record time of 72 hours in line with high technical standards.

In Raqqa, rehabilitation works on Al-Rashid Bridge, also known as the New Bridge, have entered their final stages ahead of reopening the crossing and reconnecting both sides of the Euphrates River.

Rahmoun said technical teams have started casting the prestressed concrete deck of the bridge as part of the project, which extends 525 meters in length and 12.5 meters in width. He noted that reopening the bridge is expected to support transportation and facilitate economic, agricultural, and commercial activity between the city and its southern and western countryside.

SEBCO has also completed the final phase of the Idlib–Maaret Misrin road expansion and rehabilitation project, a strategic section of the Idlib–Bab al-Hawa highway.

The works included the installation of an integrated lighting system, infrastructure preparations, asphalt paving, road curbs, and New Jersey concrete barriers aimed at improving road efficiency and enhancing traffic safety.

SEBCO is one of Syria’s leading public construction institutions specializing in housing, roads, bridges, and public facilities projects, and continues to support infrastructure development projects across the country.
