President al-Sharaa: We are determined to develop salary and wage system

Damascus, May.25 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa affirmed the continuation of efforts to develop the wage and salary system, in order to guarantee a decent life for citizens.

“We are determined to develop the wage and salary system to ensure a decent life for citizens, both workers and retirees,” President al-Sharaa said on Monday on X platform.

The President added that since liberation until the signing of Decrees No. (67) and (68) of 2026, all employees have benefited from general increases, and more than 861,000 have benefited from specific increases in vital sectors; this is within a gradual and rising reform process that balances situation and aspirations in its steps and prospects.

On March 20th, President al-Sharaa issued Decree No. (67), which stipulated adding 50 percent to the fixed salaries and wages of all employees in the state institutions.

The President also issued Decree No. (68), which stipulated the application of a special increase to the salaries and wages of employees in a number of public sides, within the framework of improving the living conditions of citizens.
