Damascus, May 12 (SANA) The Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat in the United Arab Emirates, Omar Habtoor Al Darei, accompanied by a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Endowments, conducted a field tour that included a number of mosques damaged in the vicinity of Damascus as a result of bombing by the deposed regime.
The ministry said the delegation assessed the destruction and identified the needs of the affected mosques as part of ongoing efforts to restore religious sites and revive their social roles.
The tour followed talks held between Syria’s Minister of Endowments (Awqaf), Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri and Al Darei on strengthening cooperation and sharing expertise in religious affairs.
